I finally figured out what I want to do with my life! I’m mixing my love of alternative photography with my love for the river mud and turning it into pieces I’ve [somewhat embarrassingly] tagged #detritusredefined . I leave these pieces in off the wall places. A rusty exhibition of sorts. (You can click on the images for a larger view.)

A photograph, sewn to a piece of leather found in a local river. Copper wire and a bird skull complete the piece.
Here are some more #detritusredefined pieces:
A wind-slide exhibit:
-
I drilled holes into a tumbled blue glass bottle neck that I found in the Chehalis River.
-
I drilled and sewed the edges of some transparencies.
-
Most of these images are transparencies of original prints that had been hand tinted. One is an image of my dad, skipping stones. He died just this past Thanksgiving.
-
All strung up with a clock gear to boot.
A viewer:
-
I used a little found milk glass jar to create a viewer. I wanted to honor the little barnacle.
-
I topped the jar with a river-found glass lens and wrapped it with river-found leather. I added rhinestones to the barnacle.
-
The viewer.
-
Look inside and there's the head of David.
Here are some river-found bottles that I “impregnated” with my images.
A rusty tin:
-
I attached a wetplate collodion photo and a river-found buckle to a rusty tine.
-
Inside is an impregnated river-found bottle.
-
This tin was placed and as far as I know it's still there, waiting for someone to find it intriguing enough to take home.
Deranged Robin with river finds:
Coming soon to a tree, an alleyway, or some other spot near you!
Wetplate collodion and river finds:
-
Two wetplate collodion images melded together.
-

-
The reverse. A child's shoe sole.
-
River-found findings.
-
River-found items and two film transparencies that have been sealed in epoxy resin.
-
slides in epoxy resin.
I’ll update as I place these items.
