JEM Jr. Box Camera

Here’s a nifty all metal box camera that I picked up in Conway, WA. It’s got top and side viewfinders. Made by the J. E. Mergott Co. in Newark NJ, the camera takes eight 6×9 images on 120 film. On the top of the body is a small lever for “I” and “B” settings. The shutter seems to actually be somewhat consistent – slow.

In an earlier review of this camera, I had quoted J. E. Mergott’s great nephew. Over the years people have contacted me, asking for information about the company. Mostly folks doing research, etc. I actually know nothing about the company, but I do like their cool metal box camera.

But wait! There’s more. I found the exact same camera in a Girl Scout edition at a local auction.

I loaded the Jem Jr Girl Scout camera with some Fujicolor 400:
